The poll by the University of Nairobi professors indicates that Uhuru would win the presidency with 55.1 % of the votes while Raila would only manage 35.1% of the total votes cast.
The survey comes days after another one by Ipsos indicated that Uhuru would win the election with 50% of the votes against Raila’s 22%.
While the December 21 2016 Ipsos poll showed that there would be a possible re-run between Uhuru and Raila, the UoN one indicated the president would win easily in round one.

One is declared a winner in a presidential poll if they collect 50% plus one of the total votes cast.
The poll conducted by the UoN dons and released on Saturday, December 31 2016 also indicated that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was popular among 2.3 % of the voters and so was Deputy President William Ruto.
